Gracy Singh seems to have this uncanny ability to attract a wide variety of roles that many actresses can only dream of.

Earlier, she played the village belle and the legendary Aamir Khan’s love interest in ‘Lagaan’. Then she played a doctor and matched her wits with the adorable Sunjay Dutt in ‘Munnabhai MBBS’. And now, she’s back to the village. But this time, Gracy does not play an ordinary rustic girl. On the contrary, she plays the coveted role of a powerful, village ‘sarpanch’, no less.

The film is ‘White Land’, directed by Jayant Gilatar. The film is a powerfully narrated account, based on a real story focusing on the salt workers of Gujarat. According to those who know about the film, Gracy’s strong role and her equally stunning performance have the potential to take her career to dizzying heights, once again.

Filmmakers apparently are already aware of what Gracy can do as an actress. After all, that is precisely why she’s being offered such strong roles. Says Jayant Gilatar, “White Land is a real story based on Gujarat’s ‘salt workers’. We were looking for someone who had mass appeal, a strong screen presence as well as the ability to perform the powerful and complex role of the village ‘sarpanch’. And Gracy has all that. She was the perfect actress for the role.”

Well, going by the kind of films she is being offered these days, there seem to be many filmmakers thinking on similar lines!
